COMMUNITY

IN-GAME FEATURES

The in-game community features included in Combat Arms (Vote Kick, Messenger and Chat Systems and Player Abuse and Bug Reporting) compliment the community features available through the Combat Arms website (Rankings, Player Profiles, Clan Pages, User Abuse Report, etc.). Both are designed to help you communicate with, compete with, organize and help police your gaming compatriots. The following is a list of the in-game community features included in the current game client.
Vote Kick
Vote Kick allows any single player in a game to call a vote on whether to eject a teammate. If at least 60% of the players in the game vote Yes, the player at issue is kicked from the game room and barred from re-entering that game. If less than 60% of the players vote yes, the player at issue remains in the game.

  • In the One May Army game mode, since there are no defined teams, Vote Kick cannot be used.
  • In the Spy Hunt game mode, hunters can use the Vote Kick feature against other hunters, and spies cannot use the Vote Kick feature at all.
HOW VOTE KICK WORKS:

  1. Initiation: If you wish to call a Vote Kick during a game press F5.
  2. Target: Select the player at issue from the prompt list (only players eligible to be targeted will be displayed).
  3. Reason: Select the reason for the Kick Request from the menu provided.
  4. Confirmation: Confirm whether or not you want to start the voting process.
  5. Voting: All players will have a maximum of 15 seconds to vote Yes or No. (Your initiation of the vote registers as a Yes vote, so you will not have to vote. The player at issue is excluded from voting.)
  6. Results: If the Yes vote is above 60%, the player at issue is kicked from the room and is not allowed to enter again.
RESTRICTIONS:

  • Vote Kicks can only be called by players ranked Staff Sergeant 1 and higher.
  • Once you initiate a Vote Kick you cannot initiate another one for 5 minutes.
  • Vote Kick is disabled in games run by Elite Moderators.
Messenger and Chat Systems

The In-Game Messenger and Chat systems allow Combat Arms players easy, selective communication with each other. Chat to everyone in order to coordinate games, organize events, or rally for specific modes and maps. Or chat one-on-one with your friends to catch up and swap strategies.

HOW MESSENGER AND CHAT WORKS:

  1. Chat in channel and game room lobbies:
    1. There are two tabs in the channel lobby chat box. The Channel tab allows you to talk to everyone in that channel, while the Clan tab allows you to talk specifically to members of your clan in that channel.
    2. A cursor prompt in a chat bar is already set at the bottom of the channel lobby. Simply type in a message and hit Enter. You should see your message in the chat box above the chat bar.
  2. Messenger in channel and game room lobbies:
    1. Click on the Messenger button at the lower right corner of channel and game room lobbies. Your Friends List should appear.
    2. Click on the name of the Friend you want to chat with. A messenger box will open up.
    3. A cursor prompt in a messenger bar is already set under the messenger box. Simply type in a message and hit Enter. You should see your message appear in the chat box.
  3. While playing a game:
    1. While playing a game, hit the Enter key to reveal your chat bar.
    2. The default mode is ALL, which will allow you to message everyone in the game. Press F3 to message only those in your team. Press F4 to message only players in the game that belong to your clan. (You can press F2 to return to ALL.)
    3. Simply type in a message and hit Enter again. Your message will appear in the lower left quadrant of the screen.
Player Abuse and Bug Reporting

Combat Arms makes it easy to report abusive and/or harassing players as well as bugs you may run across in the game. By clicking on the Player Abuse and Bug Report button in any game lobby, you can file a detailed report that will go directly to Nexon's Customer Service department. This feature is one among many features the Combat Arms team is putting in place to help improve the gaming experience for everyone.

HOW PLAYER ABUSE AND BUG REPORTING WORKS:

  1. At the top right corner of the Server Lobby, the Channel Lobby and the Game Rooms, you will find a series of four gray control buttons. Click on the second button from the left.
  2. An option screen will pop out. Click on the middle button.
  3. A Player Abuse and Bug Report Form will pop out. Select a Report Category and a Report Subcategory then fill in the Name of Abuser field (if applicable) and the Details field.
  4. Click Send to have the report go directly to Customer Service, or Cancel if you feel you don’t want to submit the report after all.
  5. If you click Send, you will get a confirmation notice indicating that your report was successfully submitted.
