Mercenary characters can be hired for temporary use, allowing you to play as a different character within the game (player avatar
change). You can switch between playing as the merc or as your base character at any time.
Mercs can use all the
same weapons and gear items that your base character can use, with the exception of Uniform
and Vest items -- each merc come with his or her own unique outfit for these two gear
categories.
Once you activate the mercenary from your Inbox, you can equip this item from the Character
slot of the Body tab of the Shop/Storage screen. Unequip it to switch back to your base character.

Over his nine year tenure with Delta, he carried out over 27 highly classified combat missions, developing a specialty in extracting high value targets from hot zones.
Deckland seems to find the base motivations of most of his current mercenary compatriots contemptible, and it remains a mystery why such a decorated veteran would seek employ with a PMC that is widely reviled and regarded to be unscrupulous. Sources point to his visits to a young, terminally-ill patient at a stateside hospital; unconfirmed reports indicate this may be his illegitimate daughter, but the ultra-professional soldier rebuffs all comment about his personal life.
