-
What is Quick Start? How do I use this to enter a server and join a match?
-
Jump into a match with just the push of a button! Quick Start automatically locates a server and game room for you. Choosing Default Settings will take you into the first compatible server and room found while Custom Settings allows you to set requirements for compatible search results.
Changing the settings lets you specify both the type of server you prefer and the map or mode you’d like to join.
-
What is Jukebox?
-
The Jukebox allows you to customize the music files that play in the background while you’re in the lobby. There are a variety of built -in music tracks included with Combat Arms that you can enable on the Jukebox Playlist, or you can add your own MP3 files!
To locate the Jukebox’s settings, open the Options menu and click on the Sound sub-menu. The Jukebox is located under General Settings.
-
How can I use Jukebox to play my own music?
-
Combat Arms can play your own MP3 files as music tracks whenever you are in the lobby. Locate the Jukebox folder inside of your Combat Arms installation folder (default: C:\Nexon\Combat Arms\Jukebox) and copy your MP3 files there. After the MP3 files have been added, select the music files you want to hear from the Jukebox List displayed in the Options menu.
Copy the music files into the folder before launching the game to ensure they will be properly detected. If a music track is grayed out and cannot be selected in the Jukebox list that means it is in a file format that is not compatible with Combat Arms.

What are Elite and Super Elite Moderators?
-
When a player is equipped with a Moderator item they have full control of any room they create or have been assigned to as room master. When a Moderator is in control of the room, there are some changes you should be aware of:
- Vote Kicking is no longer active. Instead the Moderator chooses who to kick and can kick any player in the game immediately on command. When a kick is made in-game, all remaining players are asked to vote whether they agree with the decision to kick. If a decision receives enough NO votes, the Moderator’s ability to kick will be temporarily blocked.
- Players can be kicked instantly from the waiting room.
- Players who are kicked out of a Moderator’s room will not be able to rejoin for an extended period of time.
- Moderated rooms are sorted at the top of the list of available matches in the lobby. Super Elite Moderated rooms are given the highest positions, followed by Elite Moderated rooms.
- Super Elite Moderators have the choice to setup an additional Arms Rule for their room; for example, they can choose both No Explosives and No Shotguns at the same time.
- Super Elite Moderated matches award bonus EXP and GP for completed games which qualify.
Both the Super Elite Moderator and Elite Moderator items can be purchased in the Black Market. However, you can also earn the Elite Moderator item for permanent (for free) by ranking up high enough.

What is the World Cooltime System?
-
The World Cooltime System is setup to regulate and balance certain Specialist Support items. In order to prevent spamming or abuse of such items, the World Cooltime System restricts how frequently these items can be used.
All players are affected by the World Cooltime System. For example, in an Elimination Game if a player on Alpha uses the Airstrike Designator-LGB all players on both Alpha and Bravo with an Airstrike Support item must wait for the World Cooltime System to finish before another Airstrike can be launched.
-
What is a HiSec Case, and how do I get one?
-
A HiSec Case is a special item that is dropped in-game when you or your opponents are killed, appearing in all modes except Fireteam. It comes in two varieties, Gray and Black, and when opened will randomly give you one of a large variety of items.
The Gray HiSec Case contains special functional items such as GP or EXP Bonus Passes (in exclusive percentage boost amounts, doubling your gains after battle), high ranked GP weapons and other special items.
The Black HiSec Case is even more difficult to obtain but contains exclusive items – such as permanent variants of weapons that aren’t sold anywhere else, permanent Specialists and more!
The player who gets the kill that drops a HiSec Case has 15 seconds of ownership to this item. After 15 seconds, or if the player is killed before then, the HiSec Case can then be picked up by any player, including the one it dropped from.
To obtain the HiSec Case, simply move over it. It will then be automatically saved to your personal Inbox. When you finish the game, return to your Inbox from the Lobby and you will see the HiSec Case.
-
How do I open a HiSec Case?
-
In order to open HiSec Cases, you must have the right HiSec Key. Gray HiSec Keys open Gray HiSec Cases and are purchased with GP. Black HiSec Keys open Black HiSec Cases and are purchased with NX.
HiSec Keys can be found in the shop under the “Premium” Tab. You may purchase HiSec Keys in larger bundle sizes at a discounted rate!
Once you have the appropriate key, locate the HiSec Case in your Inbox and activate it. Remember that your HiSec keys must be purchased and activated from your Inbox or Storage first in order to open HiSec Cases.
-
What does Vote Kick mean?
-
Vote Kick allows a player to call a vote on whether to eject a teammate from the match in session. To initiate a Vote Kick, press F5 to open the Vote Kick window. Select the player to be kicked, and choose one of the available reasons for kicking. Once started, all other players (excluding yourself and the kick target) are asked if the player should be kicked. Those who do not vote are considered ‘Abstain’ votes, and count as a 0.5 NO vote. If 70% or more vote YES the player is kicked. Once you have been kicked, you cannot rejoin the room until the match is complete.
The person who initiates a vote will be unable to nominate another player to be Vote Kicked until 5 minutes have passed.

My friend invited me into a Clan, but my Clan Page isn’t updating to show it! What’s wrong?
-
When you join a clan, exit Combat Arms and log back in to ensure all Clan changes are properly updated and take full effect.
-
What does the voting mean when using the Elite or Super Elite Moderator item?
-
When you Vote Kick a player from the game, the other players have the option to vote on whether or not your call was fair. Over time, the results from these votes is reflected in your Elite Moderator rating, which is indicated by the color of the “Elite” icon next to your name whenever you equip the Elite Moderator item. Every Moderator starts with a Yellow indicator that slides toward Green or Red depending on cumulative player votes. Green indicates a Moderator whose Kicks have been more favored than not by other players. Red indicates a Moderator whose Kicks have been less favored by other players. The Elite Moderator color indicators alerts you to rooms run by Elite Moderators whose judgment has been endorsed by fellow players.
-
I got kicked out of a game for no reason by an Elite Moderator! What do I do to contest this?
-
An Elite Moderated room is a “private server” of sorts. When you choose to play in an Elite Moderated room, you’re agreeing to play by that moderator’s rules which are subject to the Moderator’s judgment. Check out a player’s Moderator rating before entering the game room. If it’s green, the other players have found this Moderator’s decisions to be fair; if it’s red, you probably want to avoid that particular game room. If you do not like an Elite Moderator’s rules or behavior, the best thing to do is find another game room or create your own.
-
I created my clan but it still looks like I’m not in a clan. What’s wrong?
-
When creating or leaving a clan, it is recommended that you exit Combat Arms and log back in. Certain clan changes require you to logout to take full effect.
-
In Capture the Flag, both teams were tied at the end but my team wound up losing. What determines the winner of a tie or draw?
-
In the case of a tied score at the end of a Capture the Flag game, a winner is determined using a combination of the following values:
- Successful Flag Captures – A measure of total capture mission points.
- Flag Retrieval – A measure of flag defense. The lower the number of retrievals, the better.
- Total Kills – The number of opponents killed.
- Total Deaths – The number of deaths on your team.
-
I just beat a map in the mode Fireteam, so where are my rewards?
-

All rewards earned from completing Fireteam are automatically added to your Inbox following the end of the match. The reward will only last in your Inbox for 24 hours, so be sure to activate it before it expires!
Each Fireteam map offers unique rewards:
- Desert Thunder: Shemagh (Head/Face item)

- Black Lung: Dynamite (Grenade)
- NEMEXIS HQ: Ninjato (Melee)

What are Achievements and Medals? How do they work?
-
Achievements are long term goals that mark your dedication and skill in Combat Arms. When in-game, view your current Achievement progress in the “Character Information” window by selecting the “Achievements” tab.
Medals are awarded to players who’ve completed a category of Achievements. Receiving a Medal may unlock new challenging Achievements to earn!
Completing Achievements and Medals can earn you EXP and/or GP. When you meet the requirements to complete an Achievement or earn a Medal, a window will appear stating what rewards have been received.
See the guide for more information about Combat Arms’ Achievements.
-
I’m trying to contact a friend in-game. What can I do to reach them?
-
There are a variety of ways to stay in touch with other Combat Arms players:
- Messenger is an instant messaging service in the game’s lobbies. Players must be added as friends in order to chat.
- Whispers use the chat bar to communicate with others both in a lobby and in a match and do not require prior friend requests.
- Notes are messages which can be left for players even if they’re offline, like an in-game email.
-
There’s an event going on where I can receive a free item! How does this work? How do I get my free item?
-
First, make sure to carefully read all of the details and instructions for the event. Both the requirements of the event and the method for receiving your reward can vary each time. Some rewards are instantly added to your Inbox once the steps to earn it are completed, while others require waiting until the event is over before all participants receive their prize.
If you have questions about an event in game, visit the Combat Arms forums to ask questions and receive additional information!
-
How do I capture screenshots of the game? Where do they go on my computer?
-
To save a screenshot of the game, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard. A JPEG image of the screenshot is then created inside the folder where Combat Arms is installed. The default location is “C:\Nexon\Combat Arms\”.
-
How can I capture a video recording of my game in Combat Arms?
-
Players can record video of Combat Arms without installing any extra programs! From anywhere in the game, press the Page Down key on the keyboard to begin recording. In the upper-left corner of the screen a recording notice will appear to let you know when video is being captured.
Video recording can be customized to meet your needs; when in the lobby, click on the star-shaped button in the upper right corner to display “Video Settings”. Experiment with what settings work best for you.
Recorded videos are stored inside the folder where Combat Arms is installed. The default location is “C:\Nexon\Combat Arms\”.
See the Video Recording Guide for more information.
-
When using the Video Recorder in Combat Arms, my performance drops too much to play! What’s going on?
-
Recording video requires additional computer resources which can reduce game performance. Try using a different Size/Quality setting for capturing video. Normal Size, High Quality MPEG4 and YouTube HD require higher-end machines. Half Size, YouTube Normal or Smallest Size do not require as much computer resources to record video.
-
Combat Arms can upload video clips directly to YouTube.com? How does that work?
-
Once you have a video clip you’d like to share online, open the “Video Options” menu using the star-shaped button in the upper-right corner of the lobby.
Enter your YouTube.com login information, select a video file listed on the menu, give it a title and descriptive information, and press “Upload.”
In order to use the YouTube Uploader, you need to have an account with www.YouTube.com .
See the Youtube Uploader Guide for more information.
-
When I’m recording video in Combat Arms, can I turn off the text and images on the screen so the view is more open?
-
Whether you are recording a video or just want a more open view, you can toggle the HUD on and off with the Page Up key. HUD means “Heads-Up Display” and refers to all of the information displayed on screen while playing.
-
During a match someone told me to “TV” them. What does that mean?
-
“TV” is short for TeamViewer, a program used for connecting into another person’s computer through the internet. This program is not associated with Nexon or Combat Arms; Customer Support will not be able to help you with any issues that arise as a result of using this program.
-
What are Battery items? How do they work?
-
Battery items are a variety of equipment that runs off of battery charge in game play. They do not use ammunition like guns and can be used repeatedly during combat, as long as there is enough battery charge to activate the item.
Each Battery item uses the player’s battery charge differently. Some drain the battery charge over time, while some will use the entire charge instantly. Develop your own strategies to manage your battery charge to be the most efficient on the battlefield.
During combat, the Battery item will recharge itself to be used again, appearing orange when it isn’t fully charged. A Battery Meter shows how much of a charge is left. The meter surrounds the Radar in the upper right corner of your screen and is displayed at all times. When the Battery Meter flashes it means the battery charge has been completely refilled.
You cannot have more than one Battery item equipped at a time.
-
What are Bonus EXP or GP Passes, and how can I use them?
-
Bonus Passes let you earn additional EXP and/or GP with every game you play. With a Bonus EXP or GP pass equipped, you receive an additional reward at the end of a completed match.
Bonus Passes are bought in set quantities and do not expire like weapons or gear items. You can purchase Bonus Passes in 25% and 40% amounts in the Black Market. It is possible to get Bonus Passes in 100% amounts from both Gray and Black HiSec Cases.
Rare EXP+GP Combo Passes award bonus EXP and GP together in one pass, and are only offered through sales or events occasionally.
Bonuses Passes are found under the “Function” section of your inventory. Remember to enter your storage and equip Bonus Passes before entering a game.
-
I bought and equipped a Bonus EXP or GP Pass. Will they stack?
-
You cannot stack 25%, 40% or 100% Bonus EXP and GP Passes together to increase their boost amount. You may only have one EXP and one GP pass equipped at a time. You can purchase additional Bonus EXP and GP Passes to stock up and have them for more games.
Only EXP+GP Combo Passes can be stacked with other passes. The Combo Pass can be equipped alongside both EXP and GP Bonus Passes (example: 100% EXP Pass, 40% GP Pass, 20% Combo Pass). This rare type of Bonus Pass cannot normally be bought from the shop or received through supply cases, so stock up on it when you see it offered!
-
What is a Default Weapon Change?
-
The Default Weapon Change allows you to permanently change your default weapons, so instead of the M16A3 assault rifle (primary) or M92FS pistol (secondary), you will always have permanent access to the weapon you choose with the Default Weapon Change item. When the Default Weapon Change item is used, you will no longer have the previous default weapon that was changed. The Default Weapon Change is no longer available for purchase, but if you already have one in your Inbox, you should have no trouble activating it.
-
What are Specialists?
-
Specialists are unique mercenaries. Specialists can be bought either with GP by players that meet the rank requirements or at any time with NX. Specialists have remarkable abilities and are easily identifiable because of their unique appearance. This will allow other players to be prepared for their equipment and functions. Specialists are the only mercenaries with access to Special items.
-
What are Special items?
-
Special items can be purchased either with GP by players that meet the rank requirements, or at any time with NX. Specialist mercenaries have one Special item slot in place of their backpack slot, and can equip one Special item at a time. Only Specialists can use Special items. Specialists can also choose to purchase and equip a Specialist 2Slot License, which allows them to have an additional Special item slot, with no penalty to their movement speed. The Specialist Backpack License grants the player a backpack slot for normal weapons in addition to their one Special item slot.
-
What are “LE” and “Limited Edition” weapons?
-
Limited Edition Permanent Weapons were only available for a limited time. These permanent weapons can be identified by “LE” added to the name of the weapon. While the name is different, its stats are identical to the regular version. Weapon usage stats for these Limited Edition weapons are tracked on the website in the same category as the regular version (example: A G36E Valkyrie LE has Weapon Usage stats and Rankings under the G36E Valkyrie). Limited Edition weapons are no longer available for purchase from the shop.
-
I noticed Default Weapon Changes and Weapon Free Passes are no longer available for purchase…but I already have one in my Inbox. Will it still work?
-
Although the Default Weapon Change and Weapon Free Passes are no longer available for purchase, if you already have either your Inbox, you should have no trouble activating it.
-
I just used my EXP and GP Bonus Passes in a server with a 15% boost to EXP and GP, but the rewards at the end of the game didn’t add up! What’s going on?
-
Bonus Passes for EXP and GP apply to the base reward of the match before any Server Boosts are applied. For example, if a server offers +10% to EXP and GP, that 10% from the server is not calculated with the reward from your equipped Bonus Passes.
-
I didn’t get to finish the match I was in. Will it still cost me some of my EXP or GP Bonus Pass uses?
-
Bonus Passes will only count for matches that are successfully completed and award EXP and GP at the end. If you did not get to finish your match and did not receive EXP and GP, you will not lose any of your remaining EXP and GP Bonus Pass uses. Being kicked, disconnected, or stopped by abnormal gameplay alerts will not cause you to lose remaining EXP and GP Bonus Pass uses.
-
What are Super Megaphones? How do they work?
-
You can use a Super Megaphone to broadcast a message to every player logged in to Combat Arms. Your message will be seen by players whether they’re in chatting in the lobby, browsing the shop, or playing in a match.
To use a Super Megaphone, locate the item in the “Function” section of your inventory and activate it. When prompted , enter in the message you wish to broadcast. You can even change the colors of the words in the message.
Once submitted for broadcast, the message will be sent out through the game once messages already waiting to be broadcasted are finished.
-
What is the Gun Emporium and how do I use it?
-
You can make entirely new weapons, improve existing weapons or even earn upgraded variants through the Gun Emporium. NPC Bubba Ares and his Gun Emporium can help you explore new ways to use your weapons.
Forge is a feature of the Gun Emporium that lets you create completely new weapons using guns you can buy from the shop and components you can earn from finished matches.
Customize allows you to improve the stats of a weapon using parts earned by completing matches. There are three different grades of improvement available (A, B, and C), with C granting the highest level of improvement but requiring the most customization parts. Customizations have a chance to fail; apply some of your GP to improve the chances of a successful customization. Should the customization fail, all parts and GP spent on the attempt will be forfeit, but you can reattempt the customization as many times as you like.
Jobs is where Bubba offers assistance with getting your materials ready to Forge your guns and chances for earning new upgraded “MARK II” weapons. Each job lists the requirements that must be met and what you will earn for meeting them. You can follow the progress of your Jobs outside of the Gun Emporium by opening your “Character Information” window and viewing the “Jobs” tab or by pressing [TAB] in-game to see your progress displayed under the Scoreboard.
For more detailed information, you can visit the Gun Emporium page of the Combat Arms website.
-
I completed a match and a large prize wheel called Roulette appeared at the end. What is Roulette and how does it work?
-
If a completed match meets the necessary requirements, it will trigger the Roulette Wheel to appear following the end of the match. This wheel awards Forging Hardware and Customization items used in the Gun Emporium to make new weapons and improve ones you already own.
Roulette will only be available at the end of matches which meet the necessary requirements. Keep an eye out on the Combat Arms website for events where the Roulette Wheel contains new prizes and items to earn.
Click here for more information about the Roulette system and the list of requirements to trigger Roulette.
-
I logged in to Combat Arms and a pop-up appeared telling me there are Daily Jobs available. What are Daily Jobs and how do I complete them?
-
When Daily Jobs are active, each day there will be a new list of goals for you to complete that award prizes instantly. The Daily Jobs are automatically active when you log into the game and you only need to begin playing to start earning your free prizes.
Each Daily Job has unique goals with rules that must be followed in order to be eligible to earn progress for the Job. Make sure to read each Daily Job’s information carefully to know which matches will help you work towards completing it.
Keep an eye on the Combat Arms Website for news and updates about what Daily Jobs are available and what prizes you can earn! Click here for more information about Daily Jobs.
-
I just finished a match and it didn’t count towards my Daily Job! Why not?
-
Daily Jobs will not work for every match, as the settings for the match you’re playing in may affect its eligibility. Also, Daily Jobs must be completed in the order they are listed. You cannot earn progress on the second Daily Job until the first is completed.
To know if a match you are in will count towards your current Daily Job, press the [TAB] key to open the Scoreboard. If the match counts toward your Daily Job, the job will be displayed in the Job Tracker under the Scoreboard. If nothing is listed, the match doesn’t count toward your Daily Job.
Also remember that progress towards Daily Jobs only counts for matches that are successfully completed. Even if the Daily Job Tracker states you are now at 100% completion, it will only count if you finish the rest of the match.
Click here for more information on Daily Jobs.
-
I had my Daily Jobs reward in my Inbox, and now it’s gone! Where’d it go?
-
Rewards earned through Daily Jobs will only remain in your Inbox for a limited duration of time. If you do not activate your Daily Job reward within that duration of time, it will be removed. Remember to activate your Daily Job rewards as soon as possible!
-
Today when I logged in to Combat Arms, I lost all my progress on my Daily Jobs from yesterday! Why?
-
Daily Jobs must be completed within a 24 hour period starting at 4 AM Pacific each day. All progress and unclaimed rewards are lost when the next set of Daily Jobs is activated.
Remember that the 24 hours begins at 4 AM Pacific and does not begin when you first sign in for the day.
